Melissa Oneil

MelissaMelissa Crystal O'Neil (born July 12, 1988[1]) is a Canadian performer and actress. O'Neil was the first Canadian woman to take home Canadian Idol's third season, which aired in 2005. O'Neil is well-known for her role in Syfy's science-fiction series Dark Matter. O'Neil was well-known for her role in The Rookie as Officer Lucy Chen. O'Neil was judged in the bottom two spots and three finals. The judges advised viewers to vote for contestants similar to Melissa, who clearly had the most impressive vocal skills. In the following weeks, O'Neil never fell back into the bottom three after giving consistently excellent performances, and judge Zack Werner declaring that she was "a potential winner of the entire contest". O'Neil, along with Rex Goudie made it to the finals on September 7 on the 7th of September in 2005. Werner, a judge famously said that the headlines in the following day's papers would be "The King [Kalan Porter] is dead. The Queen will live forever." O'Neil defeated Goudie in the grand finale results showon the 14th of September, 2005. She was also named the third Canadian Idol and the first female winner.
