Antonia Lofaso

Antonia's Lofaso invites you explore her inner world through the cuisine she creates. The curiosity in her grew after she moved from her home in the Long Island suburbs to explore the vast cultural diversity in Los Angeles. Cavatelli, carnitas and various other cuisines can be found within a menu. This is a constantly evolving taste. With every dish she serves she draws a picture that is distinct and speaks to a longing for the past. Inspired by her Italian-American heritage Lofaso opened Scopa Italian Roots in 2013 that was immediately a hit. Lofaso's interpretation of traditional Italian has been called the one of Los Angeles' most compelling Italian eateries. Lofaso has been praised by many as a local favorite who consistently delivers meals that are delicious, authentic and warm. Lofaso was an apprentice of culinary experts, absorbing their techniques and taking risks. She never hesitated in doing so, merely following her intuition. After a brief period, Lofaso rose to the top in Wolfgang Puck's Spago. In the following years, she worked alongside many celebrities, as she transformed various Los Angeles restaurants. Lofaso, Sal Aurora, and Mario Guddemi partnered to open Black Market Liquor Bar Studio City in 2011. The bar was eventually able to get a place within Black Market as well as her partnerships. Lofaso was able to enjoy the freedom to be creative that she wanted through the collaboration. Black Market doesn't have one particular focus. That is their intention. A meal could start with potatoes chips, peppers and some dill. This could be followed by Korean meatballs and wings. Antonia's bold flavors are the foundation of these bold flavors. The success of Lofaso has been judged by her ability to be true to herself while still understanding her audience. Her appearances on the Top Chef Chicago episode and Top Chef: All Stars demonstrated her capability to communicate herself outside the cooking environment. In the years since she's maintained her professional career before cameras with CNBC's Restaurant Startup Judge, as well as recurring appearances on Food Network's Cutthroat Kitchen Man vs. Child. Lofaso has teamed up with Penguin to release The Busy Mom's Cookbook 100 Recipes for Fast Delicious Home Cooked Meals in the year 2012. This cookbook also tells about her struggles when raising Xea as well as her studies at The French Culinary Institute. Lofaso believes that the motivation for her achievements is rooted in the kitchen, and it's through this vein that she continues to have to keep her finger on the pulse. She is revolutionizing her industry's style by redefining chef's attire with a focus on style and function with her own brand Chefletics. Lofaso is a firm believer that adhering to the way you see yourself is crucial. To achieve her goals, she launched Antonia Lofaso Catering. It allows customers to enjoy a truly personal service.
